Contact CMS Unix Support 
The Unix Systems Team are responsible for developing, supporting and enhancing a wide range of
services within the CMS department.
The team is responsible for a large part of the underlying infrastructure and architecture of
services such as the email and web servers deployed within CMS. It also supports end user Unix
access across a variety of platforms (workstations and servers) such as Sun Solaris, Linux and
Tru64.
A primary focus of the group is to support the departments research users; which includes high
performance parallel processing systems, advanced mathematical modelling and computational fluid
dynamics among others running on 64 bit platforms such as HP/Compaq Alpha and Intel Itanium
processors. A number of clusters are available for high performance computing.
A wide range of packages are installed which can be viewed here.
These include Office suite applications, powerful code editors and HTML WYSIWYG editors, fast
and efficient compilers for numerous languages and products for creating complex scientific
documents among many others.
