Useful Microsoft Windows Software CMS Cygwin - X Server for MS Windows PuTTY - Secure Command Line Access to Unix Systems WinSCP - Secure FTP like Access to Unix Systems CMS Cygwin - Full Featured X Server for MS Windows A program that will provide access to the CMS Unix environment from windows while also allowing you to run X applications is Cygwin. This provides a bash shell, an X server and many other tools such as an SSH client. Click Here to enlarge the image PuTTY - Secure Command Line Access to Unix Systems PuTTY provides secure command line access to the CMS Unix Systems using SSH to encrypt all communication between the client and the server so that your passwords etc are not transmitted in plain text (like they are when using telnet!). NOTE: Make sure you select SSH and NOT Telnet otherwise your data will not be encrypted between the client and the server. (E.g. Your password) WinSCP - Secure FTP like Access to Unix Systems WinSCP is a FTP like program with the benfit of encrypting all your data being transmitted over the network (think passwords!)
